JOEL: This is Joel Block for The Law and You with Eugene attorney Don Corson. Don, didn’t you have an 18-wheeler case that ended in the trucking company you sued hiring you?
DON: That’s right, Joel. We helped an incredible guy who was permanently blinded by an oncoming truck that crossed the freeway median and crashed into a little Toyota. The trucking company’s insurance was woefully inadequate to cover the losses. The company’s insurance broker had dropped the ball on getting full insurance. The first attorney declined the case but recommended us. The trucking company agreed that the limited insurance the broker got was not enough, so they hired us to sue their insurance broker who had let them down. We took that case through the trial court and the court of appeals, won the appeal, and eventually the broker contributed to the final settlement.
JOEL: Thank you, Don. You can watch the video about this case and the survivor’s incredible journey at corsonjohnsonlaw.com. The Law and You is part of Corson & Johnson’s work to Make Communities Safer.
